(Introduction)

You are a clan of four Early Humans holed up in your cave during a storm. The eldest of your clan, a storyteller, is near death. He/she has asked you to depict the history of your clan on the walls of the cave to help preserve it for future generations( of the clan. Since the cave is small and space is limited, your clan must decide what important aspects of early human life should be included. Clan Roles
As you consider the subject of your cave art you must take on the perspective of one of these characters.

Man/Father - Leader of the family, hunter of both large and small animals and fish, alone or in groups. Skilled in all aspects of survival and hunting. Tool maker and Shelter builder.

Woman/Mother - Childcare provider, food gatherer, fire maker, seamstress, cook, craft maker and dancer.

Teenage boy - Learning the tasks of a man. Not yet as skilled or as wise. Hunts small game, fishes, still needs guidance. May go with men on some hunts to receive training.

Teenage girl - Learning the tasks of a woman. Not yet as skilled or as wise. Makes simple crafts, hair ornaments, collects feathers and shells, helps with cooking, gathers nuts, berries, roots, fruit. Gathers firewood. Receives training from other women.

Boy - Plays games that imitate the hunter, stays close to mother. Toys might include miniature weapons and tools.

Girl - plays games that imitate women, stays close to mother. Toys might include dolls and cooking tools.

Elder/Grandparent - Leader of the tribe or clan. Wisest of all, storyteller, knowledgeable of all aspects of tribal life.

Choose carefully. Remember, these are cave dwelling, root and grub eating, spear throwing, deer chasing, animal skin wearing, early humans.
